Shares on Wall Street inched up to all-time highs on Mon, as investors cheered
the passage of the US$550b infrastructure bill by Congress. The Dow Jones
Industrial Average gained 104.27 pts or 0.29%, to close at 36,432.22. The
broader S&P 500 index rose 0.09%. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite
advanced 0.07%.
Tesla (TSLA US, -4.84%) shares fell after CEO Elon Musk's weekend Twitter
poll, which endorsed him selling 10%, or around US$25b, of his shares.
Speculation that Musk could use some of that money to buy Bitcoin, may have
played a role in a big rally in crypto currencies. In early trade Tue, Bitcoin has
traded above US$67,400, setting a new record high. The number one crypto,
ethereum hit a record high too.
