The major US equity indexes closed at records again on Tue. Bonds extended a
global rally ahead of the Fed decision, due out later today (Wed). The Dow
Jones Industrial Average gained 138.79 pts or 0.39% higher to close at
36,052.63. The broader S&P 500 index rose 0.37%. The tech-heavy Nasdaq
Composite advanced 0.34%. The small cap benchmark Russell 2000 rose
slightly to close at an all-time high.
Tesla (TESLA US, -3.03%) fell after Elon Musk cast doubt on Hertz's (HTZZ US,
+2.66%) plan to buy 100,000 EVs, tweeting that the Model 3 maker has not
signed a contract yet.
Facebook’s parent Meta Platforms (FB US, -0.58%) will no longer use facial
recognition for photos and videos shared to the company's social network.
